I don't want to accidentally step on any.
If this is a serious post, I imagine the target demographics are somewhat divergent and the age rating shenanigans would get in the way.
I've often wondered this as well. I would think that something small - perhaps one of their collectible minifig lines - would do insanely well if utilizing a SE theme (the collectible minifigs are generally aimed at adult fans of Lego anyway).
In the meantime, I'll just have to console myself by doing custom figs of Squaresoft characters:

Both companies are difficult to work licensing deals for physical goods.
Squeenix uses almost exclusively squeenix-owned companies to produce its licensed merchandise (the big exception being the company that prints its card game).
the lego video game franchise is currently owned by Warner Brothers, which makes it a hard sell for a virtual cross-promotion as well.
Not all that divergent. While many Lego products are aimed at young children, some of them are aimed at teenagers and up.
There are also, for example, a number of Star Wars-themed Lego products - and we do know there is some overlap between Star Wars fans and Final Fantasy fans.
I could very well imagine a collaboration being not merely possible but plausible - at least in theory. In practice I suspect there are a number of hurdles to get over, but nothing that ought to be impossible.
Oh wow. If they did this, people would be queueing around the Block to get them.
... I'll see myself out.
