Continuing FFXI Monthly Fee Discount

Greetings,

I have started this thread as a request to continue the discount to the Final Fantasy XI monthly fee when also subscribed to Final Fantasy XIV. I am considering going back to XI and that would solidify my decision. My other suggestion is that if a continued discount is not feasible, offer a free month of play for new or returning XI players who also bought XIV. I have hope for XIV, but currently there isn't a lot to do so I want something to bide my time while the XIV updates continue to progress. If you agree or have further suggestions, please post them in this thread.

This is a pretty good idea. It would make me resub to XI in a heartbeat.

If you buy ffxi on steam you get a free month... Just incase you guys got ride of your original games.

Yes, but I already own the Ultimate Collection and have a character I want to reactivate. If that discount were offered I'd resubscribe and probably buy the Abyssea add-ons.

I guess you missed the whole point of the thread...

Make it happen SE. I'm already subscribed to both games but I'm only choosing one when FFXIV becomes pay to play and it's not going to be FFXIV.

You want a discount on XI when XIV is free, i would understand it if XIV wasnt free but damn how cheap are you lol

Well they had the discount for a while, I just want to see it extended. It's about giving people incentive to come back to a game that is generally unwelcoming to new or returning players. God knows they make it difficult enough already with PlayOnline and their awful account/billing services. I bought the XIV collector's edition and put Crysta on my account and so far it has felt more like I'm an internal beta tester for a game that is unfinished than a customer. I just think it would get more players back into XI and involved with the rebuilding of XIV.

Actually, the discount never applied because FFXIV has been free to play. No one got it because it was only supposed to come into effect when we started paying for FFXIV, and if I remember correctly, were paying for both. To have something extended that wouldn't even come into effect would be pointless. It'd be better if they reintroduce the discount when they start charging for XIV instead. Their 'discount' doesn't happen while XIV is Free.

Edit: Also, my XI account is still active and I never had the discount.

I had no idea, I thought XI players who bought XIV were getting the discount. I guess SE was a bit misleading in that regard.

So scratch that. Still, a complementary month or free reactivation would be a nice incentive. Not sure if I'm going back now since I'd have to buy Abyssea and pay the standard fee.
