Can we get a month without a seasonal event?

I know I don't have to do them, but when they are in achievements that you have one shot at I feel required.

Also this is Eorzea not earth, shouldn't they have their own holidays. Sure they wrap it in lore than ties it to that world, but honestly they are this worlds holidays. So unique holidays to the world, and less of them so they feel special when one comes around is what I am asking for.

I think the general idea of earth inspired occasions is to get the playerbase to appreciate each other's cultures (although the devs could perhaps take inspiration from more ethnic groups)

I think it would be a good idea to isolate/regionalise the events rather than having the same event immitated in each city at the same time. Regionalising events would also encourage people to crowd around other cities (even if just for a short week or two) and keep things feeling fresh with a new hub point every month. e.g. Summer in Uldah, Winter in Ishguard, St Patricks Day in LL with all the drunken pirates (;p), Summer Solstice in Grid with all the hippies, etc

It would also enable the devs to put on a more spectacular show with events if they only have to tailor it to one zone as opposed to just plopping down a generic npc, one chrismas tree or one egg basket and a few fireworks or snow effect. It would also be nice if events became more dynamic as they drew to a close changing in style and direction, e.g. in firefall faire we chased around a few bombs to hamlets for a week or two, why not add a gigantic bomb king going havoc towards the end of the event that could act as a world NM with servers competing to gain the title of defeating it.

Each region clearly has different lore (as per the regional difference in opinion on Dalamud) so it seems lore breaking that the whole continent celebrates the same events.

inb42.0 gets pushed back another year because all the Lv.1 holiday gear takes 6+ months to create.

I think this sounds like a great idea!! I love all the events and think we should have both real life holiday evemts and lore only events that are based on the regions beliefs.

I never bother. it's all a huge pile of inventrory-1's to me. if they made stuff actually usefull i'd be more inclined to take part and do them.

was much the same in xi. anniversary ring, stables chocobo collars, that stuff was usefull so i'd try to get it. but everything else meh inv-1

I like seasonal events. I just don't like the useless trash you get as a reward.

Further proof that achievements are a cancer to gaming. You hate doing them, but you force yourself to do them!

I was going to say February, but I'd forgotten Valentione's Day. So the last month without a seasonal event was last November, back when I wasn't playing. (Assuming you don't count the few hours on the morning of Nov. 1 that was the last of All Saint's Wake). And before that, there was only June and July, and they apologized for not giving us a midsummer event...

I'm fine with the events. I completely agree with Altanas in that some, if not all, events should be by region, including regions outside the main three.
