Hello all. I have a GTX 1080 and it ran everything before Stormblood just fine but since starting the new expansion I have been encountering random stuttering. While the game generally runs smoothly this is getting in the way of my enjoyment of the game and was hoping someone could pass on some advice.

I would suggest pushing "ctrl shift escape" and then going to the "performance" tab. If you have a second screen, try it have it up on there so you can catch it while the stuttering happens. But if you don't, they still have a graph to show a bit of history.
From this tab, see if you find anything that's bottlenecking. e.g., does your computer run out of memory, is something eating up the disk, etc etc.
For an even more detailed view, "open resource monitor" at the bottom of the Performance tab can show you the specific process/program that's using up stuff - just in case it's something other than FFXIV that's using a lot of resources and causing a slowdown.
