Some additionals make Zero sense for PVP. (Melee)

Backstep: is 100% wasted pick why does melee have this shouldnt it be a ranged escape ability? :confused:

Remove Bolt from everyone and replace Backstep with the old Bolt from Stormblood PVP for Melee.

Bloodbath: is pretty much useless for Ninja it doesnt even work on half of their abilities. :mad:

Fetterward: Cut the cooldown in half and id use it 1 min is to much. :mad:

I'd agree if most tanks in feast weren't incapable of reading user frames and continuously stunned into it.

I like Bolt as it is.

Backstep is weird, yeah. Only time it feels useful isn't even in Feast; you can use it on Carteneau Flats to teleport to ground level without taking fall damage which is cute. That said that doesn't exactly feel substantive. It suffers from Repelling Shot syndrome where I feel the animation is so laggy that if you actually want to get somewhere, the distance you made isn't that great compared to what you'd get from running. Still a net positive but ehhh.

still more balanced than 2 years of safeguard/recoup

Backstep is trash and should be replaced, too laggy with ticks to even be effective and the distance isnt anything special when all melees can just catch up to you in no time or use sprint.
Bloodbath is fine.
Fetterward at 45s would be ite.

bloodbath is pretty op on classes with lots of accidental aoe skills like drg, on other single target skills melees (mnk,nin, sam) it can be totally useless because the target might be shielded and the absorb is then 0 or 1 instead of the dmg you deal to the shield (this affects all the absorb skills on all classes like pld gnb war and mages with drain - they only have a use if target isnt shielded which sucks a lot)

fetter ward has same problem like in old 3.x pvp, you can get cc'd into fetter ward, taking away your valuable seconds of cc immunity because netcode. I would rather like to see it as a basic skill than an additional because its not very reliable anyway..

on the other hand cc is now so rare and we have resistances too, idk why we still need it, its a pretty niche ability

arms length prevents swapping targets a bit too, you get a debuff on your dmg for hitting a target with it, in old pvp when there was safeguard you only got punished if you try to burst into the target with safeguard, now you get punished even if you realize you hit the target with the defensive because of the debuff - it breaks the game flow more than needed. This prevents playing smart.

Playing smart should be encouraged, playing stupid shouldn't pay off so much as it does. There is too much RNG in Feast now because of necessity to spam potion, which lag and scale with your HP values that are snapshotted weirdly too because of the lag and lack of cc & support skills. It needs more single effective and pure skills, start splitting up defensive, offensive and support skills from each other. Or it stays a hot mess.

You removed TP, resource managment is gone now on melees, could just use MP instead... Might give classes more depth and less buttonsmash.

It's useless on NIN and mostly Monk (not completely useless, but because you'd probably get more value out of A/L). But you're wrong about SAM - it's absolutely busted on Samurai; Chiten bloodbath is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.

CC is rare because the phys range in this game are bad and just decide to bind silence stun the same target.

The issue I have with fetter ward is a lot of melees who still take it don't do so to survive, they do it for uptime. And if it's uptime you're aiming for then you might as well just take feint, since you can't exactly play feint/FW unless you wanna die real quick.

Also again, people don't get punished for mistakes or standing in dumb areas unless they have a teammate intelligent enough to notice and call them. For the most part, things seem below par or weaker because the general playerbase has this has this first exposure to any kind of MMORPG Arena PvP and isn't very good at it, but you don't need to be to climb, so the cycle continues.

I actually like the idea of backstep on my sam, I dont use it but if the devs gave it a larger range and made it provide the speed boost at end of the backstep it would have been a great addition to melee jobs imo.

I find it weird that you are complaining when you are given an actual "choice" with this action sets
If you are comparing to previous PvP adjustments, everyone pretty much use the same actions because other actions are useless (delusion of a choice)
This time around you are given an actual freedom of choice to choose the actions combination to suit your play style.
If I want to stay with team PvP I would choose between (or both) Feint and Arm's Length
If I want to solo harassing (in other modes), i would choose between Bloodbath or Arm's Length
If I want to harass node, I would choose between backstep or Arm's Length
Back-step and Ninja works very well together if you want to be a solo harassing.
It is a choose given to you, enjoy it while it last.
