Covid-19

I'm in self isolation due to the Covid-19 outbreak. @home in Michigan. Anyone else getting more XIV?

What are you experiences regarding the pandemic?

That people are panicking and acting stupid as a result. I'm also a healthcare worker and have had people steal medical supplies from my clinic, so honestly my opinion on humanity just keeps plummeting.

Empty grocery stores, take out only restaurants, colleges are closed due to this, that’s all that’s been effecting me personally, but frankly I was thinking of dropping out and starting something different anyways, plus I don’t mind having a impromptu staycation, will be good to clear out my backlog of games and play FF14, although I know tons of people are gonna be out of jobs so that’s no good. Feels like the whole world is shutting down

Honestly I’d be more worried if people weren’t panicking and staying at home.

I work in an ITU and with the numbers of sick people growing exponentially so will the number of people in need of a ventilator. I shudder to think what my unit will look like in two weeks time. Colleagues already got infected and need to stay home and we usually were understaffed before recent events anyway. But apparently that's the only way to make people wake up and stay at home.

This whole thing has left me with a lot of free time. My work has closed down until further notice and things finally get better. Almost at 2 weeks, and going for who knows how long.

Though, I think a lot of the people who brush it off like it is nothing are going to be the reason this keeps going.

Staying home with my daughter. Now I have to do her classes, thank god her teacher sends us her work. She's six so it's a tad difficult but we're hanging in there.

I got a buttload of free time thought now so beside playing teacher with my kid, I try to remain positive and do things I didn't take time to do before— like finishing games I never did finish after all lol

I think that's a very healthy attitude to have. I personally like the empty trains or streets since it's quite calming. I even hear birds in the morning where before I only heard cars. The sense of solidarity is also really nice.

As critical as the disease is.. i like to see it that the world is forced to slow down. At every other day there is haste here and there.. now we have time to do things that lies around for ages.
But of course... its a hard time especially for the health care.

This. so much, I enjoy empty stores, streets etc... less cars. I get its bad for many ppl but still, it shows we can live with a bit... less as well.

(And no i gotta work, just have a ton of vacation and they rather have us use it)
