Weird-ish question

So I finally upgraded from starter edition and already on HW, but with the XP buff I will probably over leveled everything like I did on ARR.

The question is: will I need to finish, for example, the HW MSQ's in order to unlock SB MSQ's? Don't get me wrong, I want to, because I don't want to reach, again for example, level 70 without finishing SB and have SHB quests dropping on me like the previous expansion never happened.

I want to play this for the MSQ's in a linear way and don't mind the over level (not anymore).

The Main Story Quests are linear, so the ShB quests will not begin until you've totally completed SB, and likewise for SB after HW.

Yes don't worry, MSQ is mandatory since it is one ongoing story unlike other mmos that are more arc based (ffxiv has arcs too, but they lead into each other)
