New Diadem + Inventory Space

I usually try to keep a whole set of like 35-50 slots open on my inventory and with the way new Diadem works, I need more than that just so it doesn't overflow after getting items approved. Was it expected that people would have basically empty inventories for this? Also prior I would just gather what I needed during phase 1 but this time I am getting so many things I am not going to use for the time being because of the randomness + mass amount of items from mob kills with the bazooka. I hope that some other way to handle the items pops up because I was rather interested in gathering to help out with the Firmament/Ishgard Restoration but the mass amount of spaces taken is souring the experience.

Don't switch between classes while in Diadem (exception would be to take advantage of special weather). If you do need to get other materials gathered by a different class, exit Diadem and reorganize your inventory. Wait until you're done gathering for the day to have your materials inspected so you're not running double inventory constantly.

Focus on a narrow set of items to gather (ie always gather the level 80 items or always the level 60 items). Know which creature drops the item you want to gather the most and use the Auger on that creature every time instead of using it on random creatures. That should reduce the number of inventory spaces you need while in Diadem greatly.

I discarded all the low level items and started to only gather the highest level ones, I also only destroy the sprites which only drop crystals.

I'm killing only the mobs that have the items I need and am only getting highest level ones. It's still too much.

sometimes the sprites give every type of crystal but in smaller yields than normally, if the other enemies do that then you definitely do not wan't to kill them if you are low on inventory space.

They give the same amounts each time. The problem usually arises with the way that "approved" items also take up space. They probably could have separated things more or just had less items that served multiple purposes but unlike last time it's a lot of waste to be gathering in order to get scrips or score as opposed to just getting what you need.

Personally I like how they looked at fishing and said, "You know what these guys need? More bait! Which is the same as existing bait, just Diadem exclusive!"
