I'm praying that the Ishgard Restoration rankings are using a tiered scoring system.

By that, I mean that having X amount of points by the end of season determines what rewards you get (IE, tier 1 could be a million skybuilders points, tier 2 500K, etc), as opposed to actually outscoring other players because it's a given that there are going to be numerous people abusing DoL/H bots to bloat their scores with no effort involved.

Actual rank in relation to other players should be for bragging rights and nothing else if they're not going to do an adequate job of enforcing fair play (They historically haven't, so I doubt anything is going to change now). However, I suspect that is not going to be the case considering their initial mention that you would not be eligible for a top spot in a ranking multiple seasons in a row; so as to give other players a chance. Unfortunately, that basically means legit players are going to be on a waiting list to get a top spot because the average individual is not going to be able to realistically compete with people who just leave bots running overnight or longer; moreso when some are also running multiple in tandem to give themselves an infinite supply of crafting materials.

I appreciate them giving the DoL/H classes more love, but it just makes the issue of cheaters all the more noticeable as time goes on.

just watch the "rewards and acheivements" will be nothing super special and so the bots/no lifers/try hards will get it once - see that it's not worth it and then everyone else will get their turn at it.

They had already told us that getting the rewards would be a one time thing so others would get an opportunity.

Still a bit disappointed that quantity looks like it will play a greater role than quality, though if the Skyward Points scale exponentially that could change,

Non-expert recipes aren't even worth mentioning when it comes to scoring because the normal ones offered only 3 points base vs. 600+ on the expert crafts. There's only a 200 point difference for a max collectability craft vs. a minimum though, so quantity > quality is liable to win out.

The random nature/necessity of the new conditions on Expert recipes is also not going to hinder bots as they can easily script them to trigger skills based on the crafts' current durability/progress/control/condition. All it did was axe macros which is liable to just push even more people into using bots instead.

Oh, I'm thinking only in terms of the Expert. It shows 175+ at 4500 on the Expert item. If getting 6486 is only worth 250, then it's not worth it to push getting more than 4500 so you can focus on quantity. If getting 6486 is worth 2000, quality suddenly makes a big difference. You'd have to craft at least 10 items to get the same points so pushing quality as high as possible per item would become important.

I just went back and took another look at the screenshots, 6000+ is worth 800 points. So definitely has an impact but hard to say if it will be more effective to focus on getting 4500 to turn more faster or to push to 6k.

It looks like there's some kind of rare, green quality material needed to even make the expert recipes in the first place, so the rarity of said item also going to be a factor in whether or not it's worth trying to shoot for max quality.

Would be nice there was actually some thought involved in procuring the stuff so legit players would have some kind of advantage, because it's a given people are gonna be farming the heck out of the Diadem with their bots.

So they have titles for top 100 of each job, then a generic title for being number one on any of the classes.

I'm just thankful all of the more tangible rewards like mounts are tied to general scoring.

Also, expert recipes are insanely hard to the point where now I'm doubting they'll actually be able to make a functional script to automate their creation, so that's something, too.
