Market Wards are full since Server Merge

Since the server merge, I haven't been able to place my retainer anywhere to sell things. I keep getting the "You cannot summon any more retainers in this area." regardless of which section of the Market ward I go to, what gives ?

Welcome to the issue Selbina(Ridill) has had for many months now.

Ya I just started out playing right after the merge, and not being able to place a retainer means me and my friend have no means to craft for money now.

Really it looks like they need to gut the marketwards system and just let us place items up for sale like the AH from XI. It's a bad system when tons of crafters can't sell their goods.

Have any of you tried grabbing a stall, yes I know it sucks that it costs 500gil per day but at least you'll be in there, you can also customize your stall.

Funny you even say that. Ive been on selbina well....since beta and i can say for sure i have NEVER ran into this izsue before. The trick to getting your retainer up in a ward to sell things is to find an open booth or stand. Since i figured this out (because most people just rage cuz a ward is full and jump from ward to ward selecting "summon retainer", and they neglect the stands) i have never had issues.

Well to be fair, I was excluding stands. I don't know how often you play and/or check on your retainer, but a 24 hour duration is not enough to keep my retainer up at all times. Yes, if I'm desperate I'll use a stand, but I prefer the 7-day period over the 24-hour one. I think it would make more sense if they switched those two values... if you have to pay, you'd think you'd get more time, not less. Either that or allow for you to prepay for multiple days, though if they went that route, we'd be back at square one with nowhere to ever put our retainers because they'd all be full.

I could post this whole no-stand = 24 hours, stand = 7-days thing in all 3 of the latest posts in this section, but I won't. Sheesh people, why are there so many posts about the same thing when the latest post is already what you want to discuss?

i have been using gridanias wards and i sell... not as much as in uldah but is better than nothing.

I wasn't going to make a post about this because it's such a infuriating situation for me that I felt posting would be just one more butting-my-head-against-a-wall action (like so many things are in XIV) that I had decided to cut my losses and just keep quiet. But nuuuuu...here I am.
The obvious reasons for frustration over the market wards are that gil earning in any significant amount for me has come to a grinding halt. How is this fair that only a small portion of the community has the ability to still make significant gil while the rest of us sit around with maxed out bags, vendoring stuff we would have otherwise marketed? My personal and retainers' bags are stuffed to the max which has brought gathering classes to a halt because god knows I can't take any more mats that I don't have any place to store. Crafting too has greatly slowed because what am I going to do with the stuff I craft? (And another reason I'm not crafting much is because of the lack of local leves...but that's another subject! Still, for more than 48 hours my lvl 38 goldsmith had no leves higher than lvl 25! wth) Anyway, the point I was hopefully trying to reach without going overboard, is this: In a game that has SO LITTLE CONTENT (yes, I realize that’s being fixed), why in the world would SE be so deaf about these complaints? We need some emergency fixes on the market wards. I had hoped that during this period where there’s not a lot to do, I could at least spend the time (waiting on 2.0) leveling my crafts, gathering, and making some gil rather than just going to play another game. But now with the lack of market space and its subsequent chain reaction, I find myself twiddling my thumbs more and more (and becoming poor not to mention bored!)
Yes…I know about the booths…again…how is this fair? If I have to “babysit” my booth setting it up and paying every 24 hours, then at least make the market wards reset every 24 hours as well. At least that would give players a shot at getting a space. As it is, it feels hopeless.
