Panic Healing is a Toxic behavior that needs to be made reportable

It's a community based toxic behavior that not only makes me livid but I shouldn't need to be constantly uncomfortable when I Tank a Dungeon

People do it to speed things up, But it's unacceptable for people who are uncomfortable with the practice, I play this game to defuse stress, Not want to get more stress from people who think it's okay to do such things

I wouldn't mind this whole thing if Defense stats actually meant something in the game yet every enemy still hits hard as if they all deal Percentile Based Damage, The fact that Full Augmented Scaven Gear means next to nothing in Holminster Switch really shows how pointless it is to even acknowledge Defense stats and time between Defensive Cooldown Abilities has to be micromanaged with the exception of each Tank having a 30 Second Anti Tank Buster CD

Stop focusing on what your healer should be doing, and focus on what you should be doing.

If they let you fall to 20% before they heal you, its because they know they can. It's not toxic, its playing optimally, which should be celebrated, not punished.

If you are using your cooldowns even somewhat appropriately there should be really no stress in dungeons at all, they are the most faceroll content in the game.

So...

- This is not panic heal, this is planned and taking those skill to their full effects.
- This is not toxic, it's optimal
- If the player is doing good and is nice, this is not reportable
- If you don't like it, you're free to initiate a vote kick. Vote kick for "different playstyle" is a valid reason from GM perspective.
- If the kick is not agreed among everyone, you're still free to leave
- You'll see this a lot, so you'd better get use to it from the beginning.
- If you're unconfortable, instead of ranting here, say your dedicated healer what's up gently. Communication is the key.

What is toxic here tbh, is you saying community and those type of player are toxic because you actually don't understand what's up.
So chill and pick one of the point above.

Panic healing to me screams blasting out heal bombs when you're at 95% HP still.
Throwing out a tetra and a bene at the same time BECAUSE PANIC.
Standing still not casting anything because you gotta be ready for the damage because the healer is in full panic attack mode throughout the entire encounter.

OP, can you please clarify what you mean by “panic healing”? Because that phrasing gives me similar vibes to Canadane’s except I think more of someone freaking out when tank health is dropping and hitting the wrong keys or something (which is something I’ve been guilty of when I was still learning and forgot my keybinds because I hadn’t healed in a while while still a noob). Not “toxic” either way, and frankly I’m not sure we’re using the same definition of “toxic: here. :1

There is nothing Toxic about panic healing. What you're blowing out of proportion is how heals in general are being handled, more or less based on your own experiences in low level dungeons like Doma Castle(where depending on how much the tank pulls, it can determine how the healer has to react) or if you're already far enough, I'd say Mt. Gulg in the third section with all the adds piled on him.

The actual definition of panic healing is healing every single bit of damage regardless of what it is, and not even considering to allow the tank to lose some HP before using a Tetra or Lily Stack for a burst heal.

Oh I thought this thread was going to be about how unfun it is to hurt your hands while trying to keep up healing someone who's undergeared or not good at tanking.

If I die as a tank despite doing my best with my skills and stuff, I don't get upset because it's healer's fault and not mine. Maybe just try not getting upset when someone doesn't start healing you when your health goes down to 90%.

i dont get your point at all, youre upset that the healer lets u drop below 20% or upset that the healer is treating every injury?

if its the case that healer drops u below 20% this is not toxic behavior at all and your OP is kinda toxic because:

A) the healer is thinking on how to help u by shortening your run time by squeezing as much dps as he can which actually is helpful.
B) he has a strong heal set up for such case like WHM benediction or AST ED.
C) could even happened that he wanted to heal u but healed a different target instead,you know we are ppl we make mistakes as well.
D)they got distracted/had to do mechanics and couldn't see.if so you have your own heals to help u just in case ,it doesn't mean the healer done it on purpose and if it was he probably counted on it that means he trusts u and done it for reason A.

if its the other case where he doesn't stop healing its still isn't toxic behavior cause:

A)he is new to healing and probably scared that u will die,we all start at some point.
B)maybe under geared so he needs to heal more rather then dps.
C)unfamiliar with a dungeon/raid/trial and working on safe mode as explained in reason A.
D)despite how wrong that healing is ,it is still a healer job to basically heal if he keeps you alive it means he does his job (poorly but he does it)

basically the toxic behavior in this thread is your OP not the one who heals and as stated before communication is key ,tell your healer whats upsets u and if u dont like him initiate a votekick before fighting/looting.

I agree with everyone. Your definition of panic healing is different from mine. Panic healing to me is someone who just heal bots during a run without utilizing their full kit.

Even then, things happen and the run doesn't turn out the way it should. A healer constantly keeping you at 100% HP is so unrealistic.

Like someone said, you can ask them nicely to do more focused healing if you're really that uncomfortable. But make no mistake, calling someone toxic because they're planning out their heals is very disrespectful. As long as you're doing your job and they're doing theirs, you shouldn't worry about what the other person is doing.

Also Holminster Switch is harder to heal because of the varying ilvls you can get in there and the lvl sync as well.

If you have that much of a problem with how healers are healing you then you should befriend one that fits your needs instead of complaining on here.
