I think it would help, although maybe very little, if your flourish timers froze while you where dancing. Would also allow you to keep your flourishes on standby if the enemy decides to go invulnerable at a bad time as well.

While I do get where this is coming from. Dancer is a proc based job, and using it to its max is knowing when to use each proc. Halting the process just negates that function of the job and turns it into a basic combo based job, like some of the others.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe only only RDM and DNC are proc based. MCH use to be but its initial build was recieved quite poorly. SE has done a better job with RDM and DNC in regards to procs, and the newly added proc-like nature that has been added to BRD. Though BRD is still a DoT based job.
I'm not sure how freezing your flourish timers while dancing to keep from loosing the proc would take away from the rng of getting a proc. It would just allow for more piece of mind, I think lol. The Flourish ability is more the move that removes the proc stuff like Acceleration does for RDM.
Its that weird intermingling of different job types, where this sorta falls into play. DNC, like the other jobs is a nice mix, but is primarily a Proc based job. Those procs however, as well as the Dances, fall under a priory system. Its the management of these two things that make DNC fun to play, for most at least. Without it, I'm not saying the job wouldn't be fun, but it would become too similar to MCH, with a priority based system. Additionally, there is a slight differences between Acceleration and Flourish. Acceleration just makes the proc 100%. Whereas, Flourish procs everything at once. There is no real gameplay changes with Acceleration on RDM, but with Flourish, you still need to prioritizes them.
I have to disagree.
Like any job, if you know a boss will go invuln soon and you'll waste your big attack/procs/song/whatever, it might be better to hold it, or realigning or using it differently.
While I understand what you're talking about, I think Dancer is already a easy job and doesn't need more adjusment.
And giving the ability to froze your proc when dancing while it's about priority isn't fair for others jobs who also have priorities and proc to deal with.
Depending of the encounter or the situation, you just need to adapt.
Imho what DNC really needs is an additional effect on saber dance that increases the duration of procs by 1-2 seconds every time you use it because if you get "too lucky" with your opener, you may very well be forced to waste some procs or some esprit.
Don't need to change anything. Invulnerability phases are stupid but it's just a matter of memorization and planning ahead.
I like that decision making though. Perhaps it might be worth to lose the proc and get the guarenteed Saber damage which might give you another Saber later in the fight. Or perhaps it's better to let it overcap and use the proc which could turn into a Fan Dance 1 into Fan Dance 3 which is more damage than the Saber.
Personally I'd like it if improvisation stopped proc timers from counting down.
