One random day a year, mounts become usable everywhere. Could be interesting..
Its also called server crashed day
Or "Get your f*cking Behemoth out of that NPC/ the summoning bell" day
Can't wait to see a line of whales and phoenixes choking Eulmore.
It's actually sad how negative you lot are. Shooting the guy down without hesitation, that's now how progress is made. But anyways, OP I think this could be pretty tight is implemented right. Having little mini-events that go on in the game would be an awesome addition and really help to breathe more life into the game.
I don't think it's "negative" to immediately point out the obvious server strain issues or how players will immediately abuse the feature in order to make others have a bad day. I mean, I have slight lag in a player-filled Eulmore right now with a god PC and amazing internet. I feel bad for people who play on consoles or potato PC's.
Every time I go back to Idyllshire for something I'm reminded how grateful I am that the newer cities don't allow mounts so there's not much to hesitate for, I really dislike mounted cities. It's not even about lag for me, it's just the aesthetics. It doesn't belong in the building.
The idea to allow for it isn't one I'd enjoy and for reasons others have said would probably mean having to avoid cities entirely for that day (whenever it happens to be, since it would be "random").
I'm all for micro-holidays but this sounds like a mini nightmare to me, personally.
But that's not all that can be said about it. The fact that someone's mind immediately jumps to possible downsides of the suggestion at hand is what makes them come off as negative. I didn't even see anyone try to name possible pros of it, only cons. Hahaha imagine if that's how the world acted anytime a new idea was introduced,
"What??? Cars? NO THANKS. Horses are fine, Cars will require so much more work to maintain and are way more dangerous and so much more. Bad idea."
"What??? Xbox? NO THANKS. Microsoft should stick to computers and software. Video games will only lead to violence and will negatively influence our kids. Bad idea."
