A Realm Reborn zone changes

Not technically lore (though adding new lakes does add more geographical lore), but in the same vein as the old Revs Toll and Idyllshire threads

I think we can expect more of these as time goes on as they seem to be updating all ARR zones!

There is a Reddit thread showing that the zone lines have been changed to flying zone lines. This could either be for consistency or it means a more robust zone overhaul in the works.

It doesn't necessarily mean the old zones will get flying enabled but it's something to think about.

It's very promising. It makes me think that the ARR revamp is going to be rather bold and more than just a case of tweaking quests. To me it suggests that once they're done with the project they'll be on board with adding more customisation options for the older playable races and also adding the missing genders to Hrothgar and Viera.

I mean, I wouldn't be opposed to that, but it feels like a leap to go from them changing geography around to meaning they're also expanding character customization.

This gives me hope that we'll finally be able to fly in the ARR zones.

I wouldn't say it's a leap. It's been speculated for a while that something was going on in the background that was diverting resources elsewhere. Now that we know that the ARR revamp is likely to be much broader in scope than initially expected then we know where those resources have been going. So when they're freed up, the next port of call is likely to be adding the missing genders and expanding character customisation further. Something that the community has been eager to see addressed/added and the development team has been fairly responsive towards.

It's mostly a matter of when at this point, especially since they're making good on their promise to future proof the game itself. To say nothing of their major competitor being set to expand its character customisation further very soon.

I would die from happiness if they're adding flying to ARR because damn if I don't hate running around on the ground for minor chores in areas I've already fully explored on foot.
