My brother is having difficulty downloading the patch today, but I was able to get it no problem. Same house, same internet connection. Nothing works. His gets to 29% downloaded and it stops. Can I move the files from my PC to his so he can skip the patcher?
Whenever the game patches itself, it first checks whether or not it even needs the patch by validating the installed game files. Simply overwriting his game files with your patched ones will do the trick.
It also works with other MMOs, and is great for avoiding games that require a cumulative download of all updates.
Yeah, after posting this, I realized my game is on a portable SSD that I could just plug into his PC and move the files over. I'm an idiot.
