There needs to be a option to turn this off and not have me go into my settings and manually do it every time I want to peacefully enjoy fishing. I completely missed that during patch notes and was shocked start beast tribes to have this load "DINK" when I can clearly hear the rod being pulled. I really hope this is removed or put in as an option.
While I don't necessarily disagree with the exclamation marks, the attention-grabbing extra sound that comes before even your rod makes its tug sound is what really turns me off. I've caught tens of thousands of fish just fine listening to the satisfying tugging of my fishing rod, and the extra sound takes me out of the relaxed vibe I'm used to. Especially because both the 'pop' and the rod tug sound are heard on top of each other, which I find very distracting.
Because the combat animation settings have to be turned to limited or off to reach this effect, it becomes quite tedious when you wish to fish in between roulettes, for examples.
I remembered that the option could be turned off, which I like. The method of doing so is tied to combat elements that I do wish to keep, which I find unfortunate. The fact that both sound and exclamation mark are tied to 'on' or 'off' is a minor shame, but I'll mention it nonetheless.
The solution would be to provide a separate option for these effects to be turned on or off for fishing. Set and forget, rather than bother with it for each fishing session.
