If you want to do the relic, you will need to have completed the Return to Ivalice questline.
If you want to do the Eden raids, you will need to have completed the 5.0 tier (normal mode only).
If you want to do the alliance raid in 5.3, you will need to have finished The Copied Factory and the associated questline.
...Thank you for the kind words; not often found here on the OF. Assuming by "giant ugly creature" you mean Ruby weapon - that's hard to say. SE's tried to take primals out of the Main Story Quests so people don't rush MSQ just to do them. It will probably be a sidequest with the blue-colored quest icon, but we'll need the preliminary patchnotes before we know for sure. We might get those preliminary notes sometime in the next week or so.
And, same deal for Cid's thing. We know how the raids work because it's the usual pattern, and the relic was discussed in the live letter, but the other stuff is more unknown.
When the preliminary patch notes do come out, someone always puts together a guide on where to go for new content, what needs to be unlocked, and so on. So when that happens, I would recommend heading over to the FFXIV reddit and looking for that guide post (It will probably be called something like "5.2 unlock guide" or "5.2 new content guide").
Good luck with the Ivalice raids. Some can be a little harsh if too many people are netflix'ing through it. I also can't wait for the new patch.
Oh and not for lack of trying to complete Rabanastre, I always get a ARR raid for my roulette so and I’m not willing to do it synced.
I'm not sure if this is "proof" enough for you, but the trailer featured an NPC that so far only appeared in the Return to Ivalice questline - which means that its either required OR that at the very least special dialouge etc. is locked behind completing said questline.
I also doubt that doing the SB-24-man-raids unsyched is possible, so you'll have to do them the proper way.
