So I have a really important question because I've only recently returned to FFXIV and wasn't here when all the talk about trusts as a new and shiny thing went down.
Please, please tell me that this life saving, game changing feature is intended to be baseline going forward for all story-mandatory dungeons!
As a veteran and therefore jaded and abused tank of many years, trusts are the silver bullet to the age old dilemma of the first rule of tanking being "don't be new on other people's time." It's not as hardline a rule in XIV as it is in WoW, but it can't ever really go away so long as tanks are the default leaders of any group. The ability to "not be new" the first time I ever run a dungeon with live players is absolutely a godsend, and I honestly hold XIV above all MMOs for how trusts have been implemented.
Please tell me they talked about this being "the new normal!"
Ok technically it's a question not a plea: is this the case?

Seeing how you can use Trusts for all of 5.0-storydungeons aswell as the new storydungeon that was added with 5.1, I'd say your chances of them adding Trusts to all story-dungeons going forward are pretty good. Optional dungeons dont have Trusts available though. They are unavailable for trials, however - so if a trial is part of the mainstory (and they usually are) you still have to do that with 7 other people.
(This might actually be one part of the reason of us only getting one dungeon per patch going forward - on top of other content to replace the "lost dungeon" this one dungeons also needs to have their AI programmed for it) -

As for trials, as a tank I find boss fights far less stressful than trash where someone's cracking the whip to GO GO GO, maybe not as much in FFXIV but that's where the jadedness comes in. I've already tanked titania and it was fine. It's the halls of trash and the pressure to go faster that are the real hurtle to tanking for live players. AND TRUSTS FIX THAT YAAY! -

They've even continued adding to BLU despite its....mixed reception.
I think trusts are going to be safe. In fact I would not be shocked if they added story mode trial trusts to the mix in 6.0 too to make the entire msq soloable. Well, going forward anyway.
