So, heres the deal, I was from Besaid, which before merge was less populated than other servers, my computer is not by any means a God like most people probably have, so after hours of testing and tweaking I found a setting in which makes me happy and so I was glad I stuck with the game....then world merge happened. Now even at the same settings I am getting delays in the game. such as scrolling through macros/abilities, the main menu even casting seems to take 2-3 secs after selecting to actually display. I am assuming because now servers are packed more that my enjoyment factor now has to plummet? Leaving me to contemplate saying "Nice Try SE but not blowing money on a game I can't play." can anyone help me with this cause I worked on this game to get my awesome BLM and was just about to level CNJ next but don't even know if I should try...

From what I have read it appears that lag has picked up to some degree for everyone. The towns are much more crowded now so walking through them is a bit more jumpy and I would say crafting could be a bit slower if you have a slower computer. Also they have shut down the Ulduh Inns again as well as making "certain parts of the world" un-accessible due to increased lag issues as of the March 29 maintenance notes.

If you would like more information regarding you specifically on this matter I would suggest giving ppl as much information as you can about your set-up. What CPU and Graphics card are you running? How much RAM? What do you have some of the major game settings at (general draw quality, shadow detail, Ambient Occlusion, Depth of Field, Multi-sampling). Once we know this we can suggest areas where you can turn things down to optimize the game without loss of quality or if you really are needing some new hardware to run the game in its current state. They are going to optimize the engine at 2.0 so I agree that you don't want to spend a lot of money on parts to run the game in its current state.

Yeah I figured it had to be a population issue, which brought me to ask everyone why SE didn't keep things as is untill the opt. They are just gonna frustrate/lose more players now and that is an even greater loss of money.

JP side is going all out on forums about this right now saying Selbina server was good server with current issue and they could of tested or try to make it better before merge and if nothing available to leave it as is instead of going ahead with the merge knowing what may of arise. No posts from reps/YoshiP about it yet though

I remember back when XIV was first mentioned, around the time of WoG announcement of XI, and they swore to us that the original XI team was going to work on XIV and then they changed gears and look where it got everyone, a mess of a game that needed a whole year or so just to try and fix...
