The "S" and "R" indicators?

I was under the impression that these were basically ping times from the server to my computer, and from my computer to the server. Im not so sure this is the case anymore... Tonight i tried the ifrit fight, but was completely useless. I moved out of his charge attack and fire attacks, and was clearly out of them on my screen, however I was still hit and killed every time.

My S and R were each around 45, which would be pretty low if there are indicating latency. Could someone explain to me how these were so low, yet i had so many issues with lag?

S and R are NOT the latency. They mean "Sent" and "Received" bytes(or was it kilobytes... can't remember) per second. The green thingie is your latency but it doesn't show your actual delay but just the raw ping to the server. Green should be something like less than 500ms.

That makes more sense. My indicator was still green.. makes me a little nervous about this fight ever working correctly for me..
