Anyone else having Moving casting problem?

So with ifrit the othere day i was THM and i would start casting thunder and Ifrit would use the Plume and i would start running but my spell went off and i got caught in it. it was only 1st phase ifrit so wasnt a big deal. but then second phase came and one again plume, and my character got locked cause spell went off and i died. So then i though ok maybe cause it was probably at like 90% done so moving wouldnt cancel it. But then it was happening the whole night at ifrit and i looked at the casting bar and it wasnt even at half but the spell wasnt cancelling. and i thought that they made it if you even touch the analog stick it cancels the spell. Has anyone else had this problem lately?

I actually had the same problem the same day the server merged and got back online. We did Ifrit and wiped, I was on WHM and the same happened to me. As I started casting and got a plume, I ran just as usual, but spell wouldn't cancel and I got ani-locked and died. This went like that all the time, I assumed it was server lag cause of the merge...

Practice with the spell first. Cure has a what? 2 second cast? If you move anytime after those two seconds and you think it's gonna cancel, it isn't lol.

It happens once the casting bar goes beyond 50%. Have tested this thoroughly on my char.

They did say they didn't get it working like it does in the 2.0 game, but it's still pretty sloppy to release it like it is right now. /shrug but yeah everyone is experiencing the problem you're experiencing. Although I noticed it seems to cancel better on BLM than on THM or WHM.

Yeah Cure is almost insta-cast I know, but happened not only with Cure but also with Protect and any other spells. Anyhow it seems better now, so I'm guessing it was just mass server lag after the merge. Ill you're right, it's like in FF11 almost, just that day it was very messy with server response. I couldn't even cancel spells by double-clicking them. But now it's back to normal or at least back to playable :D

Your petition to cancel it arrives too late to your server. Distance lag + Server lag

there's still a few issues with the casting and this is one of them, but i will say after the lettered patch that fixed quite a few issues i don't have nearly the problems i did before. it's still not as good as it was before they changed it, but it's much better than it was.

Yup casting/animation lock is one of the biggest problems for me and the game right now.

Whats funny is people on here try to defend it with the "pay attention" argument..
