Primae Drops - The Tears Of Primae (Suggestion)

Just a simple suggestion.. its not that easy to beat ifrit in a non superp group template (6x thm, 1whm, 1 tank) etc. whatever.
And the drop chance isnt that huge also, and the weapon which drops is also very random.


what about if the primaes drop somethin' that we can exchange at the Quest-NPC's?
maybe in a way that this is used as a raw material to create that weapon?
For example Ifrit drops "Ifrits Tear".. you go with this "tear" to the quest npc, where you can chose for which class you wish to have that weapon. White Mage Staff, Warrior axe?

because the chance is really really rare to get the weapon for my main class which i prefer.


i think that would be a nice feature. not?

well i can speak from myself.. that i have seen no one coming out of ifrit since two days alive.. maybe they didnt had that perfect group setup..


well thats not the point here..
drop rates are RARE... you are 8 people in group.. 7 different classes... and i dont do these runs to get after 20 runs one drop for a class that i dont play..

so i dont see what speaks against my suggestion.. it doesnt make the run easier.. it makes it more enjoyable to play these instanced runs, because WHEN i get a drop, that i can chose a weapon for.


i think its a great idea and wouldnt speak against story lore also.
collecting the "tears of primae" to create a weapon with it. its even more "realistic" to create a weapon of an essence from the goddess.
and as a reward from the Quest-NPC's

I don't see how this is different from Inferno Totems or Kupo Nuts. Although technically you turn those in to the rare-item dealer NPC in Ul'dah whose name escapes me at this moment.

Just make Inferno Totem and Kupo Nuts 100% drop rate, remove weapons from the loot pool, it means we have to win 10 times to get a weapon and 70 to get all 7, that sound fair to me.

I think the point he's making is that the issues with server lag makes the fight difficult. I've been in parties that have lost to Ifrit not because nobody knew what they were doing, but because people were getting obliterated by attacks they were completely unaware of due to lag. As for myself, I've actually been hit by Ifrit during one of his charges while standing in one of the safe zones. (I was literally one of three people all standing in the same spot, and I was the only one of said three who took damage.)

My advice would be to not bother doing Ifrit and try the Moogle fight until these lag issues are resolved, as the latter is still doable at least.

Yes melee runs are easy to pull off.....if you run in an LS that knows the strat and know each other. PUGs are what some people are stuck with and this is still difficult with melee setups. Add the server lag to that and well you get the picture. I do not want the fights to be easier; just make totem or nut 100% or make any weapon tradable to an NPC for a different weapon of your choice.

Ugh... the drop rate on Ifrit is just.. insane. It's horrible.. and I think the only way to get consistent drops is to be on a killing spree, that is.. killing Ifrit at least 2-3 times before seeing drops happen. And even then... out of 8/16 runs only 2 items dropped; think two people got a totem each and another run someone got the same weapon he already owned.. and couldn't pass (cuz apparently sharing isn't caring in a Ifrit battle).

Faux latin makes me laugh.
