Paid Server Move

Going to try and keep this short.

Back before the move, friend of mine wanted SE to add the server move idea from FF11 where you pay $10 and choose where you want to go, but catch was you could only do it after being on cerrent server for a set time.

Would be nice to see SE add that into 14 in coming months, for players that didnt get servers they wished for for w/e reason.

Already stated to be possible with 2.0. They still have issues with the current free move they need to sort through.

Yeah seening all the issues from move, Im sure they do it yet. Told friend id make a paste after day of moves. Least we can get the chat started about for 2.0 maybe sooner, who knows might be casue the large number of moving around that casues the slowness.

I'm going to guess after they got everything finished with this first move, they will start preparing us for the option of paid transfers.

I know they said this will be possible in 2.0, but after they get the current merges worked out, I don't see why it has to wait until then. If they set up the option for paid transfers, it would bring in some much needed income, plus help out those who didn't get to move or those who discovered that they're not happy with their new server choice.

They technically don't have to wait, but it would be done through the SE account like XI's is, so they can easily expand it, the question is though: Does XIV's infrastructure actually handle it given the problems an internal merge had caused?

The World merge was performed on March 27, 2012. In this merger, all characters will be transferred from their old Worlds to the new ones. Wow. The merges took twice as long as they had planned, and they haven't even moved everyone yet. Just the actives.

They may be tied up for a while, after all.

This is a testament to how bad their hardware really is. Whoever decided to build this game on the leftovers lying around needs to be smacked. Can't wait for 2.0. >.<

They didnt even fully move the active people either. Had a friend who was active that is stuck in limbo even though he's active for 6 months. They moved my inactive beta character as well..

Actually a very large difference between what is being done now and what I believe 2.0 will be like. 2.0 will most likely have an entirely automated system where the system itself takes care of the transfer, whereas right now the server staff is manually transferring and adjusting characters across servers.
Mind, this is what it looks like to me, but if it is so, then it is impossible for them to offer any sort of transfer until 2.0
