Why did they remove 8v8 feast?

The one mode that wasn't necessarily competitive like 4v4 feast but wasn't the zerg fest of a 72man frontline(and without 3 DIFFERENT teams....) and they removed it... Why?

People will say that it's because it's hard to balance and have a competitive 8v8 made. Could you imagine having to heal against 2 monks and 2 summoners if your co healer wasn't up to scruff? Or If you think samurai and dancer are hard to kill, wait until there's two of them.

In our current meta imagining a dps combo of Dancer/Dancer/Monk/Monk would make me shit myself.

That zaniness is what custom matches are for.

In fairness sors it wasn't a competitive mode. When it went I wasn't sorry to see it go, I felt it'd be better for feast in the long run to have the training mode emulate the ranked mode. But yeah when it comes to having a bit of fun I do miss it, i feel like it'd still be active during the season cos I know the old one was.

Yeah. I definitely don't think 8v8 has to necessarily be a serious competitive mode. While I don't agree with the people who want 8v8v8 back since IMO FL maps are terrible for that, I definitely think there needs to be some kind of smaller scale PvP option for people playing during the graveyard hours for people who want battles to a greater scale than 4v4. They can take the 8v8 Feast, rebrand it and see if there's any room for improvement.

They could do bring back 8v8, polish up Rival Wings, then put the two of them with FL into a single PvP roulette that automatically adapts based on participation rates. I wasn't playing when 8v8 was around but it looks like it has the potential for good casual PvP fun just like RW and FL so it would be relatively inoffensive to have in the same roulette.

I really enjoyed the occasional dip into 8v8 feast with a friend. I'm glad I got my Garo grind done when it was still in the game. 4v4 has a much more intense quality to it, and it's just not what I'm looking for.

8v8 is to 4v4 as story mode raids are to Savage. They wouldn't delete story mode and ostracize the players who want to see those storylines without the stress of heavy challenge in the name of being able to to make an extra couple of Savage bosses per tier, so I've never been able to understand why 8v8 had to go.

Casual PvP hasn't been any fun for me since Stormblood started. All that's left is a handful of massive chaotic 72s with ten buttons. There's nothing in between that's smaller and more focused without being stressful and intense.

Agreed. I don't know how anyone enjoys zergfests, anything I do is just hit a GCD on a target, then tab to the next thing so I can do it again... No satisfaction in getting your own kills anymore. By the time you have battle high, it doesn't matter because everything's being zerged anyways or pinched. I miss when my damage made a significant difference instead of it being one of 100 GCD's being plowed down on a single healer. The constant movement in this new pvp mode is annoying too, you don't really pvp for very long. You try to take the node and push sides hoping your tanks know how to ya know.... tank.... And after you get it, you bail and move to another one. Half the time there's nothing to do because it's already over or it's such a zergfest that everyone's hp is dropping equally without it making a difference what you really do.

In 8v8, you can at least tell where your effort was worth it. The culling time cut down on the dullness of no kills that happens like these zergfests provide where everyone gets much easier to kill to break up the madness. It was a mode for PVP I'd argue... whereas most of what we have now is a streamlined goal oriented mode with pvp "around" it. As much as I love rival wings for actually having a bit of everything and working well with only 2 sides and being the closest thing to 8v8..... we don't have a roulette for it and it's still another gimmick centered mode. I don't want to join 4v4 cuz they're just savage mode pvp that hardly anyone queues for since the new map is pretty dang bleh as is. Just some casual small team pvp would be nice. 4v4 training is just as bad as ranked too, you can't really be whatever you want anytime and overall it just comes down to people queue'ing in premade with voice to organize attacks.

IMO the devs should create an 8v8 mode. It doesn't have to be Feast, it can be another PvP mode specifically designed as a 'fun mode'.

In other words, it should be casual and stressfree.

I also think an 8v8 'capture the flag' game would be a fun addition to PvP.

... an 8v8 capture the flag game where the rewards for participation are... humorous. Like a giant Spriggan or Moogle costume, or glowing weapons that make funny (and annoying) noises. hahaha

Just throwing some ideas out there. ^_^

Hell yeah I want no names running around with halone's cup bearer or rhalgr's right fist just by spamming 8v8
