NIN Doton questions
I have seen some ninjas casting Doton on boss even if it\\'s single target.
How much damage in total does it do ( ticks and crit?) assuming boss doesn\\'t move and takes all the dot damage?
is it legit to do this on immobile single target?
Sorry im pretty new to this.

The standard tick is 3s, so divide the duration by 3 to get the number of ticks, then multiply by the potency.
Doton: (100 potency / tick) (1 tick / 3 s) (24s) = 800 potency
Raiton is 800 potency but casts half a second sooner.
Later when you have Ten-Chi-Jin, you have to consider the entire 1-2-3 chain.
Possibilities:
TCJ: Shuriken (500) + Raiton (800) + Suiton (600) = 1900
TJC: Shuriken (500) + Hyoton (400) + Doton (800) = 1700
CTJ: Shuriken (500) + Katon (500) + Suiton (600) = 1600
CJT: Shuriken (500) + Hyoton (400) + Huton (0) = 900
JTC: Shuriken (500) + Katon (500) + Doton (800) = 1800
JCT: Shuriken (500) + Raiton (800) + Huton (0) = 1300

what he said, though the main thing is that you want to use all of your important cooldowns in when you use trick attack. since doton is a grounddot that doesnt have its potency come out all at once, you would be losing dps since all of the damage doesn't come out during trick attack, so you shouldnt really be using doton on bosses.
with the way snapshots in this game work, if you apply a status to an enemy such as a dot when they have a debuff, the entire dot will act like it has that debuff, even after the debuff fades. so using shadowfang during trick attack is good, but doton isnt, since doton counts as a status on you, not the boss.
