Will We Have the Nutcracker in Starlight Celebration Someday?

Oh my god I would actually love that! The Nutcracker is my FAVORITE holiday story! I would absolutely be down for helping out a production of it at the amphitheater, and getting an orchestrion roll and a glam or something! <3

Well, Nobuo Uematsu did adapt another Tchiakovsky piece in a FF game (the overture to Swan Lake) back in FFII, so anything is possible I guess (it helps that it's public domain too).

Isn't the Dohn Mheg BGM somewhat based on that music? Or am I getting my classical pieces completely scrambled?

Holy shit I never noticed that! The first couple of bars ARE eerily similar. The rest isn't even close, but some of it does have a passing resemblance.

It's got to be riffing on the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from the Nutcracker, definitely. With the instrumentation, the timbre, it's so overt in its homage it hurts (in a good way).

Now just add in Tea, Trepak (the music for every Christmas film trailer ever) and the Dance of the Reed Flutes - or just anything else Nutcracker - and I'll be a happy festive lady.

On a side note, this'll be my first Starlight Celebration, as I've not been subbed at this time of year previously; this year I actually managed to arrange my financials much better and I'm looking forward to it!

Congrats! I love the starlight celebration:) I enjoy all of the events, but the Starlight celebration has my favorite decorations and music in the towns and residential areas. I hope you love it too!
