So I know modding is a big no-no in this game but like. Why not use designs people make and add them to the game if requested?
The models and textures are already finished. Only thing that needs doing is making sure they work for all races. And it's not copyrighted.
Pretty sure the artist's/modders would be glad if they get credit.
Was there a rule prohibiting players from submitting 3D models to previous design contests? I didn't think they'd specified a medium.
They do host contests from time to time, and they do use some of those ideas, so it isn't as though it doesn't happen :)
if that kind of stuff could be included they probably would have thought about it, but things like longer hair (that looks and flows "properly") requires more changes to character models than you might think. they've discussed this before. has to do with the number of "bones" there are in the char model. more bones equals more processing power equals more strain on the engine to render or whatever. as long as min pc specs are a thing they have to go with the lowest common denominator for things.
