[Suggestion] New Game+ (Hard)

Hello,

Being max level, and max gear, is not rewarding, engaging or very exciting. Its kinda boring and un-challenging.

I would like to suggest the option to level sync my character to any level via party menu, as well as be minimum level for duties while participating in New Game +

Please add:

-Level Sync (via party menu)
-Duty/Quest difficulty (hard)

To me, re-playing the story would be fun, but replaying the story, when its not extremely trivial, like it was when I played it the first time, would be even more fun.

An 'alt' cant experience the Legacy cutscenes, and also doesnt have access to all the jobs, gear (glamour), items, or anything else the New Game + offers.

I'm talking about new game plus here, not just to replay the story, but new game plus. If they wanted people to just "make an alt" they wouldnt have added new game plus...................

The solo duties themselves are level synced, aren't they? It's primarily the open-world content that would be the biggest "advantage"? I'm sure there's plenty of it, but there's plenty of solo duties as well, so I was curious.


Hard Mode would be roll an alt :)

Make alt, only wear npc gear, not even job quest gear. Party Finder never, Trusts only for 5.0. Done.

If they wanted people to just to replay the story with alts, they would not have added New Game+

The whole idea of New Game + is to replay the story with already existing characters, not being forced to make new ones.

Your suggestions completely negate the entire idea of New Game +

Alts are too time consuming, even if you were to play as a healer and skip every cutscene, I still think getting to something like ShB would take over a hundred hours, and that's just healer, so what if you wanna try on a glam piece to see if it looks good on so&so race and use a alt, but that glam piece is only available for BLM or PLD? Now that alt is gonna take even longer than the healer alt I mentioned.

And that's just for trying on glams, NG+ is another issue, SE intended us to play NG+ with our current characters, yet why (apparently, I haven't tried NG+ so I'm just going off OP) can't we have a challenge when doing so? Why would we need to go through a alt, and skip unnecessary content just to see what we want to see?

I don't think it should be exclusive to new game plus. But story in general, with the addition of having easy modes, going the other way and having hard modes would work too and if applied to old content would roll out to NG+ too.

They designed NG+ so that people can replay the story. They never said anything about it being beneficial, or like it used to be.

If you want to play NG+ as it was, wear level-appropriate gear for the quest, only use level-appropriate skills, and see what happens?


I mean, it was designed solely to replay the story. Not to be a challenge or to offer rewards, since we've already all done that.


If they decide to expand upon it in the future, I won't say no, but that simply wasn't the purpose of it.
It's purpose was to replay the story with the glamoured character. It's to play the story with a new class. It's to enjoy the story once more. They never made any real indication it was designed to be a challenge or place you back to the old days.

Its almost as if the OP (that's me) already knew everything you just said, and created a thread to add a suggestion to New Game Plus.

You know, a

[Suggestion] New Game+ (Hard)

To offer Square-Enix an idea to inform them that the game in its own right, is already too easy (trivial even), and should consider offering a hard mode, not only to NG+ but to even maybe consider a hard mode for new content that's added in the future.

Like. maybe the OP should have even made the title of the thread [Suggestion] New Game+ (Hard)

I've wanted the ability to level sync yourself whenever for a while now lol There kinda is no reason why it cant be a thing.

As for hard mode? Sure. This game could go with more difficulty. They'd have to change encounters up and add new mechanics for it to be acceptable to me over just an HP increase though.

I applaud you. I just spent 3 days burning through those filler quests before HW and rather pissed about it, and you wanna go through it a second time? lol
