So I was just wondering what you would do if the unthinkable happened and SE accidentally deleted every single bit of character data on every server, *poof" all gone every last little bit, forever.
Would you start again?

I was just thinking it wouldn't be so bad if everyone was in the same boat and had to start over together. .. ...

Sorry, but on a serious note that would be "unprofessional" because, they should have a procedure where there is a "backup" of our datas and all to make sure if there is anything happen like what you mention.
Because if that happen, Yoshi will get fired :| -

This is extremely unlikely to happen.
I am sure there is a backup.
I am sure there is a backup of the backup.
I am sure there is a backup that is stored far away from the other backups.
If a natural disaster occurred such that all backups were lost, I am also sure that we would not be able to play anymore.
But let's pretend hypothetically:
I would just start over again.
Although I may change the colour of my hair... maybe. -
