Has the Gathering rotation changed at all since SB?

Has the gathering rotation for collectibles and aethersands changed at all since 5.0/5.1? Is the 600 GP rotation still the thing or is there a new rotation that is more viable now?

More or less. You get 1 extra at 800gp, and now 1 extra at special nodes due to no longer being out of reach. the 50 gp safety net doesn't seem to be an issue anymore but I can't speak for those still gearing.

Actually, there is something better. It was not updated for 5.1 but I don’t think it needs to be either ...

The relevant section is the Endgame Gathering Rotations (5.05). The gearing up parts, well, those are not as important anymore what with the Facet gathering and crafting gear.

If you ever used Discerning Eye before Impulsive in the past, replace it with Stickler (only available once per node). Other than that, same rotation.

I've been doing the rotation listed on Garland Tools. So you're saying add a Stickler at the beginning instead of DA?
