Greetings,
i am a steam user of ffxiv and i'm trying to use my laptop to play the game.
Funny enough, i am experiencing something very weird. On steam, the launcher hangs with grey background displaying the title, no error or anything.
if i start ffxivboot64.exe (outside steam), i am taken to the old launcher gui, but i could login with an account that isnt connected to steam..
does anyone have an idea for this?

Could you try disabling the Steam overlay? Could you also make sure you are connected directly to the router.
