Blue Screen While Updating

I've been getting BSOD while trying to update the game. I've tried updating drivers, updating windows, updating motherboard BIOS, uninstalling and trying to reinstall ffxiv, and resetting windows entirely. Each time the game starts to update for a few seconds but then my entire computer crashes/BSOD - even with fresh windows install.

I've also tried replacing my GPU and RAM (tried with MSI RX 5700 XT & another 2 sticks of 16GB RAM), but it still blue screens during the download. I'm not sure if it could be some other hardware issue causing this? Other games seem to run just fine though (I am able to download and run Destiny 2 through Steam with no crashing or performance issues).

Were any updates or changes made to the PC that coincide with the crash? How long have you been experiencing this? Could you post a system update? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'

I first noticed something was weird when the new launcher was released. I had to switch it to the old launcher to download the update. Now with 5.11 using the new and the old launcher gives me the same result. Before 5.11 I could download patches with the old launcher with no issue.

Does this crash occur when a different program is run. When the crash occurs, is there an error message?

I've only seen the crash happen with FFXIV. When it happens, the blue screen says "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT"

a bluescreen while trying to update ffxiv can have multiple reasons, which don't have to be caused by ffxiv in particular.
The best way to help you is having the informations the bluescreen is containing *error code+parameters at best)
I used to have the problem that my PC would crash entirely as soon as i started ffxiv, turned out to be a mainboard issue, aka unrelated to the game itself, but only happening with the game and nowhere else.

Could you try uninstalling and reinstalling and reinstalling Final Fantasy XIV? Please make sure you delete all Final Fantasy related files from the PC as well.

Make sure the faster ram stick is infront of the slower stick.

memtest or go to the event viewer get the bsod error code.
