Ishgardian reconstruction: A modest proposal

Just enable open world PvP, but the relevant PvP skills only work on Wanderers and those currently engaged in combat with wanderers. If you are killed by a server native, you are automatically teleported back to your home point on your home world.

A valid solution, but one that ignores the other positive effects of being able to have Wanderers around and then cull them when they're no longer desired. With this system, other servers' crafters can still move to the Firmament and contribute to lesser populated servers' reconstruction progress, which I personally see as a major upside.

I thought the title might be a bit too blatant, but the fact of the matter is that it solves issues with basically every aspect of the game. Remove wanderers from the Firmament while they're on vulnerable crafter classes to free up spots for server natives, neatly solves the problem of cross-world griefing at the Hunt, and gives power to the playerbase when it comes to moderating off-server influence in the likes of Limsa shout chat or Novice Network. I think it's particularly brilliant with no major downsides.

What if the wanderers come in so great numbers, are so good at pvp and are so well organized on their discord servers that the natives end up all dead ? Does that means that the wanderers can take total control of your firmament ? XD

No, no, wanderers can't initiate PvP with natives. They're second class citizens. They can tag in on any native that's currently engaged in combat, but in order for it to start, a native has to start attacking a wanderer first. Or a wanderer attacking another wanderer. But unless the native has blood on their hands, the wanderers can't initiate against them first. That's what makes this whole thing work.

The thread is titled A Modest Proposal. It's sarcasm.

But we already know what happens when organized groups (wanderers) go up against randoms (natives). Get ready to get your behinds spanked.
