I was surprised and disappointed to not find a pre-existing thread advocating a PC port of the companion app (which is currently available only for iOS and Android).

Square, this should help encourage more players to purchase a subscription to the app's premium features. I know I'd certainly enjoy being able to use it on my second screen while I'm playing the game.

If you've got access to a PC... wouldn't it just be easier to login to the game? You can do considerably more than the companion app and you also wouldn't have to pay Kupo nuts just to change your market listings...
I advocate more features on the app before porting over to PC. I would very much like to send my retainers on ventures. Or talk to my friends through the app to inside the game like a special chat like the ones we have ex: chat, general, event etc.
Easier to log in to the game than ... what? Than using the app on my PC which is currently not even one of its features? Yes, obviously. As I said, though, I'd like to use it WHILE logged in to the game. Specifically, I'd like to use it for things I CANNOT do in the game currently, such as:
1. price checks without going to the market board (especially for other worlds, ideally the whole data center, although I understand the app currently locks your market board searches to your selected character's home world; I was endeavoring to keep the post focused on a single suggestion rather than creating a list such that what specifically people are "liking" becomes unclear)
2. the ability to move items directly from one retainer to another and from inventory to retainer even when not at a summoning bell
As for more features BEFORE porting it ... both of those suggestions sound great, although I don't know enough about precisely how their development prioritization works to know that encouraging a PC port would somehow be discouraging those other improvements. My understanding is that the companion app is going to be indefinitely updated, so whenever it gets ported to PC doesn't preclude any additional features from being added on any/all platforms.
I was both unsurprised and pleased to find out the same. I pay fer the game....too...play? Yes, play it on PC, wth I need another app for what I can do in game? Companion app is for checkin stuffs while yer oot n aboot.
Quick thread necro to add another reason to have this. I might not be able to play the game while at work, but I'm able to have a small diversion here and there in the background. Currently, pulling out my phone is a distraction that fully takes my focus off of my work.
