This is happening to many players after the 5.1 patch. They better fix these dx11 errors on next maintenance.

Good morning and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.
Does the game crash when your friend teleports to a specific area? What have they tried so far to alleviate the issue? Can they provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.'
Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums.

Hello, thanks for your response. Here is the information he provided me:
• Sent my PC to the shop to see if anything is wrong so I can't grab the System Information at the moment.
• Game crashes almost everywhere. Lavender Beds, Central Shroud, Crystarium, Eulmore, Il Mehg, Idyllshire, The Tempest are some places I've crashed at the top of my head. Crashed in my house and other people's houses too. The Inn room was the only area I didn't ever crash.
• I've tried a fresh install of FFXIV, tried updating nvidia graphics drivers, and downgrading them to the previous version too. Also tried updating windows, and attempt a system recovery to a previous version of windows when the game worked. Stress testing the CPU, GPU, and RAM found no problems either.

Hi, the friend here! Just thought I’d give an update on the situation.
The technician at the store told me that he could not find any issues with the PC components. We tested it on other games such as Monster Hunter World and found that they had similar dx11 crashes as well. We tried updating to the Nvidia driver that was released a couple of days ago but it didn’t fix the issue. In the end as a last resort, with all our options exhausted, we decided on just reformatting my PC. After downloading the launcher from the official website and going through set-up, we let it patch the game a bit before cancelling and replacing the backed up FFXIV files into the game folder. So far we’ve teleported around to maps where I had frequently crashed, as well as running some instanced dungeons and the new Nier raid.
Though I pretty much lost most of my old files in the process, I’m here to report that I haven’t run into any dx11 errors for the past hour or so! Will try again tomorrow since all this stuff left me stressed and exhausted, but I am hopeful!
