FF 5.X Alternative Raid Buff Alignment and Openers

Hello there, Roxanne Stoner here! After months of talking with several experts in each class, poring over guides, utilizing simulators, leveling jobs for hands on experience, and staring off into space for hours at a time, I’ve finally put together a list of openers that work well with an alternative raid buff alignment for all the battle classes of FF14 5.X!

Most are variations while others are the exact same openers found on the Balance Discord, with a couple arranged myself. They’re not meant to be the definitive replacement for the current openers, but rather an alternative method for all raid buffs to line up relatively uniformly in order to deal more damage. That said, whichever opener results in an extra cast of a GCD, oGCD, buff, and/or burst window, or lines up better with a particular fight mechanic, that’s the one you should go for. The more options you have, the more prepared you’ll be for every encounter!

Weren't you banned from the balance discord for spreading misinformation?

7th GCD Summon is most definitely not a standard opener, and it didn't come from Akhmorning/The Balance SMN channels. 5th GCD Summon, while a better summon timing than 7th, lacks stability and should not be falsely advertised under the guise of being "Early Devotion".

6th GCD and the supposedly early 4th GCD Aetherpacts are also far too late, when it's actually being used 3rd GCD for the sake of stronger party alignment.

Your outlined Bahamut rotations are pretty dreadful would only ensure 6 out of 8 ww. That alone really makes me squint.

Since you mentioned the Balance Discord, it's also worth noting that you were banned from said Discord.

And for what it's worth, for my part, none of the healer mentors were consulted on the openers you have here - which are all abysmal.

You're still trying to push your openers, even after all the experts you consulted have told you these are nonsensical?

Definitely not an alternative method for alignment, there’s a reason why things are done how they are

Oof. You're right about the 6th out of 8 WW's. Overlooked that part, thanks for that.

Aside from that, the terms "Standard" and "Early Devotion" refers to this raid alignment, not in general.

Seriously, you need to stop. There is no alternative openers beyond what has already been tried and tested. You lack both the experience and knowledge on the respective jobs to offer information on potential openers, and have been told numerous times to please stop spreading misinformation. All this accomplishes is confusing newer players who may not know about The Balance or where to find actual openers.

Speaking as someone who actually plays Red Mage, that opener makes me want to cry. First, the Embolden is extremely late. Second, Embolden should always be in the second weave slot to maximize the GCD gains for yourself and your party members. Third, the absolute earliest Acceleration can be used in the opener is at -16. Also, outside of fights like Eden Prime or Titania, a 10 spell opener is overall better thanks to the increased mana generation, which allows for more Reprise usage throughout the entire fight.
