5.1 update on mac

Hi all,
so I just downloaded the 64 bit version today for Mac and then when I try and log in it won't download 5.1 because it says I don't have enough storage for the update when in reality I have almost double the storage. Not sure what to do. My Mac is currently running 10.14.6 aka I haven't upgraded to Catalina yet.
