It's no surprise that the current Anatman is really bad with how it delays GL gain even more than before, which is hard to get around even with third party programs . So after some pondering, I thought I'd pitch a suggestion to fix it, and that is to add an extra effect, which could be:
"Grants one stack of Greased Lightning when under Fists of Earth and increases the potency of the next weaponskill by 200."
This effect is a combination of BLM's Umbral Soul (which grants one stack of Umbral Ice and is on the GCD) and AST's Collective Unconscious (which has two different effects depending on what sect you're in). The potency increase is an arbitrary number to make up for the missed auto attack and the lowered damage of the next GCD for being in FoE. This effect would fix the current GL gain issue with Anatman, give FoE more use in the rotation, and (hopefully) stop any dependency on third party programs to track the server tick.
I'm not sure what the reason SE has for the way Anatman is currently designed, but I'd imagine it might have to do with some kind of programming issue. Most people want Anatman to only give one stack of GL immediately, but that probably goes against the original intention of the skill (to build GL stacks during downtime) even more than using it within the rotation and having it do both might create programming issues. However, since spells that grant stacks of a buff on the GCD and abilities that have different abilities depending on what stance you're in already exist in the game, I thought it'd be a solution worth looking into.
Of course, I’m fairly certain people would probably just want Anatman to work exactly like Umbral Soul (which I’d also be fine with), but I can understand it being an aesthetic thing (martial artists gotta focus and build ki, you know). Either way, if this issue can be fixed, the class it would be pretty solid in my opinion. No need for a major overhaul, at least not in this expansion, especially given how GCD intensive the class already is (though it'd be great if you could use Meditate during Six-Sided Star's CD...). :cool:

See, I can agree with the "Grants one stack of Greased Lightning" I can't really agree to the FoE part though. I just don't see a point in it tbh.
They should have just made Anatman an oGCD with like 2 charges that give a stack of GL. We probably wouldn't use more than 1 in the opener cause we gotta do so much weaving after Demo (would probably double weave Anatman at that point to be GL3 before DK?) and it would still allow us to use TK for long enough disconnects cause we could get back to GL2 which is the minimum we want to get back to, and we wouldn't be terrified of dying to like Maelstrom mechanics for example. It would kind of suck for the longer downtimes like p2 Titan transition since we wouldn't be back to GL4, but win some lose some.
Also since you support the TK opener/rotation in 5.X this would also allow for more TK uses in your preferred playstyle ;3 Could even make TK rotation competitive with the meta rotation (probably wouldn't be super close in DPS, but would be closer for sure). -

I don't know how SE goes about programming skills, but this was just my way to work with whatever tools they have. I'd gladly accept an ability with three charges that just gave a GL stack each time, hell, even no charge would be fine. And while it still puts FoE on the backburner, I think that's fine since it's just a panic button in the first place. Would probably be better if it mitigated more damage (10% just doesn't feel like it's enough...)Quote:

At least FoF, while you lose the haste, you actually can raw damage so it's technically better in a final burst type of situation, so at least FoF still has a use, even though it's really niche. And yeah 10% really isn't enough, especially when RoE already gives us that. It would make more sense for RoE to be an upgrade to FoE imo, kinda how like Rage of Halone becomes Royal Authority for PLD.Quote:
