REDACTED previous post - There is a solution but this game shouldn't be so complicated to update just to play.

Firstly make sure you are on your cable for stability.

Go open up your CMD, and find your IPv4 Address with ipconfig - eg. 192.168.0.4

You ARE required to port forward to FFXIV
Find out how to port at portforward.com but with these numbers below

UDP - 55296:55551
TCP -80 , 8080, 443, 54680-54681, 54906-54907, 54992-55007, 55021-55040, 55296-55551

Change the IPv4 DNS

Preferred to 8 . 8 . 8 . 8
Alternate to 8 . 8 . 4 . 4

Power cycle the modem, router and restart your computer.

Turn off all firewall and antivirus prior to updating.

(Optional: Change your VPN to Singapore, if you are Oceanic based since I am too however not sure if it is required.)

Then run as admin the .exe

looks like were both on the same boat VPN isnt working out for me either and neither is DNS
