Shantotto was the only one with enough personality to fit anywhere though, I'd say.

I mean, FFXI had a lot of great characters but they were kind of tied to the plot, and just that. Shantotto grew bigger than that.

who wouldn't want her? she could be my mount, give me magic piggy back rides everywhere! I would trader her in for my gobbue.

as an actual npc i think she wouldn't fit, but i could see giving her a nod in black mage legends of old where you hear of a mighty lalafell maiden that goes by that name.
