I would like a sightseeing mode to look at the graphics.

FFIXV has some beautiful graphics. I think it would be cool to have a mode where you could just walk around and look at stuff.
I sort of have this now, as in low level areas relative to my level nothing will attack me. I can also solo some of the dungeons so I can take my time and look at the scenery.

But I can't do that at higher levels, and the 24 man raids you can't really do that with since everyone is in such a hurry. Orbonne monastery has some cool waterfalls I would love to look at in more detail.

I suppose after the raid is over I could go back and take my time at that point (at least until the timer runs out).

Thoughts?

I'd like a feature like this.

I do this sometimes, but besides the timer there's a couple other limitations that may also apply depending on the design of the particular dungeon:

Once a dungeon is completed, the Return skill takes you to the final boss room rather than the beginning of the dungeon, so if there are any one-way portals taking you to the next area, it becomes impossible to access the earlier areas again after that.

Also, if there are any optional mobs, the party is likely to leave them behind. At the end of a synched run, you may have trouble dealing solo with mobs that were intended for a full party.

Have... you ever actually tried this, because it's completely inaccurate.

The shortcut at the start takes you to the final boss room. Return's functionality never changes, so it's never impossible to access earlier areas. And there aren't any current dungeons that have optional mobs. For older dungeons that do have such mobs, unsynced mode is exactly the "just exploring for graphics" mode that you want.

Yes, of course I've tried it, which is how I found out. Up until the final boss dies, the Return skill takes you to the entrance, but once the dungeon is completed and the exit portal appears in in the final boss room, Return takes you there instead. It's possible dying may still give you a chance to resurrect at the entrance, but I don't remember for sure, and if you were alive at the end of the boss fight and there's no more mobs around, that's not an option anyway.

Niwashi, please stop spreading misinformation. I use Return in literally every dungeon I run to scavenge for leftover chests after everyone exits.

Return is fine. We don't need devs to devote extra time to some special sightseeing mode. Just use Return.

I'll experiment with using return. (Honestly didn't think of it until writing the post. )

Just to to be clear - I am primarily interested in doing this on the 24 man raids.

Dungeons are not an issue, I can either unsync or go with FC members who are in no hurry. And there isn't much more to see on the 8 man raids :)

OK - there is little need for a sightseeing mode.

Tried this in Void Ark last night. The last boss was dead, everyone is leaving. Yes! Return took me back to the beginning. (ie. /return)
The only gotcha is you only have the remaining time for the raid to look around.
This works well enough for what I want to accomplish.
