Defender Stance of Chocobo useless

Steps:
1. Get your chocobo out
2. Switch to Defender stance
3. Engage a mob (in my case as a White Mage: 1x spell "Dia", then spam of spell "Glare")
4. See how the chocobo is uncapable of holding aggro

I guess this is self-explanatory. I got the Defender stance of the chocobo up to level 10 and it is incapable of tanking mobs. And since I play a healing class, I assume it's even worse for DPS. I feel like there needs to be an adjustment in terms of enmity generation. My Ilvl right now is 458. With the upcoming upgrades in equipment for 5.x, this will probably get worse and worse.
