g-sync not working

Pretty much what the title says.
I have g-sync on in NVCP and have refresh rate in game set to 144Hz /w no FPS cap and Fullscreen. Game runs around 120fps but my monitor constantly stays at 144 and never changes.

Any idea why g-sync isn't working correctly here?

UPDATE:
Nevermind. I figured it out. I was capturing with OBS (which is fine) and part of my overlay is showing my media player with a cropped Display Capture. Yeah..... don't do that. It messes with g-sync apparently. gg
