Warrior AF piece in Black Shroud

I was told this was one that's easy to solo. How the hell do I get past the giant tree mobs that do 9999 damage? They seem to be in every path leading to the ??? on my map.

Walk slowly by pressing the x key (at least that is what walk is bound to for me) they ignore you if you are on foot but will kill you if on a mount. There is now an icon that shows you are in walk mode in the spot where the >> movement arrows are.

I just cleared all the wolves and then tried walking by the treant. He still killed me... :/

Troll go away, even the moogle at the start of zone tells you what to do.

This happened to me my first time, its a bug that he sometimes ignores it when you enter aggro range

This same thing happened to me while I was helping someone, it didn't happen to me during the quest when I did it, but it seems like a bug.
