Not sure if this has been asked or discussed in here before but, I'm curious: Why do a lot of you put your dance on the tank and not the other dps? Not trying to throw shade or anything, just genuinely curious!

Er that shouldn't happen unless the tank is
A. A friend of the dancer
B. The dancer knows the tank is out dpsing the dps
Usually its the A option when it happens but it really should go on Dps personally >_>
I sometimes do that in dungeons just because the second dps doesn't use aoe skills or in general having a bad performance (or doing less dps than a tank).
I assume that some might do that because the tank is their friend or they don't know how dance partner works.
I'd only do it if your co-dps spends more time not doing damage than doing damage/Tank is doing more dps than them.
Well, I haven't leveled my dancer yet. But, if I entered a dungeon and the DPS had incredibly low HP indicating he has crap/broken gear, I would put it on the tank.
I bounced my dance-partner-buff on and off every single dps during Sophia NM today, to finally land it on my pocket-healer.
Why? Because all of them were playing pretty badly and my healer-boyfriend probably dealt more damage than the samurai, blackmage or bard.
I'll put my dance partner on a dps at first - always. But if I observe them being bad, they lose that privilge and I'll pass my buff(s) on to the healer or tank. I admit to hoping that they'll notice and think to themself "...wow... the dancer just stopped buffing me... I must have done something bad..." - but I know thats wishful thinking...
I usually do it with a co-DPS. Only time I've given it to a tank was when the other DPS was dead. I didn't know so many gave them to tanks. I guess it is plausible good tanks can out DPS average DPS's, if a person is running a parser, I guess they'll know
That said, I have jokingly given it to a healer friend saying "I'll help you boost that healer DPS", but that's about it. But I won't deny nepotism when it comes to grouping with friends, but if they're not playing a DPS, then I'm giving it to somebody else. ;)
I always do my co-DPS. However, if they don’t AOE or have low damage, I’ll give it to someone else.
If my co-DPS is a DNC that Dance Partners a healer or tank, then I give my buff to the one who doesn’t have one. :3c I’m buffing them. Why can’t they buff me, too?
I only put it on a tank if the other DPS is terrible. No buffs for ice mages!
