I don't know why there isn't one in the game already, but they should add a /read emote. You can have the character (standing or sitting) pull out a generic book and just start thumbing through the pages nodding! I think it'd be fun. As a bonus if you're on SMN or SCH, they can just read from their grimorie.

SMN and SCH can sort of do that already using their stances once their weapons are drawn, though it can't be used while sitting. It would be a neat emote, especially one that could be used while sitting.
