Binding Coil of Bahumut queues unfeasible

There has to be a better way to do the Binding coil than to just get an unsynced party.
I just cleared 3 of 5 of the first turn, but it left a sour taste in my mouth because a: binding coil isn't in any roulette, and b: no one wants to do binding coil synced. What's wrong with trying to do content as intended?

It's hardcore content.

They already added a flat +20% echo and nerfed it in a variety of other ways; I'm not sure what more they could do for it. They can't just throw it in a roulette, because even post-nerf, it's still too hard if you don't know what you're doing, and randos aren't exactly known for their ability to perform intricate teamwork very well. Nothing is "wrong with trying to do the content as intended," but people are going to take the path of least resistance to get what they want. It's on you to find people for doing it the hard way. That is going to be difficult, as you've experienced, since people are lazy (or rather, I'd call it efficient). There are people out there that'll run stuff synched, but they're few and far between. You may need to find a group dedicated to that, if you're dead set on this.

Binding Coil is ARR’s version of Savage content. That’s why it’s not in the Normal Raid Roulette—it’s not the same as Alexander Story Mode or Deltascape Story Mode. Even nerfed and with the 20% Echo, I’m positive that most DF groups wouldn’t be able to do at least half of the Turns in there. There’s nothing wrong with attempting to do something as intended, but this content isn’t a faceroll if you sync down. It’s certainly not as hard as it was, but it’s not as easy as a dungeon.


Have you actually attempted to put up Party Finders for synced Coil runs? Or are you just queuing up for it in Duty Finder to see if others are as well? If you’re doing the latter, you’re going to be hard-pressed to find players that way—most don’t want to do the content synced, so they don’t queue up for it via Duty Finder. I’d wager to say that even players who would be interested are probably hesitant to do Coil synced because a lot of jobs feel like trash to play at level 50 at this point in the game’s life—between the heavy skill pruning that occurred between Heavensward’s and Stormblood’s release, and the reworks of some jobs like BRD and MCH, they aren’t fun to play at that level.

Coil was intended to be done with a static who shares the same goals - its the difficult raid-content back from ARR-days and was never meant to be done via DF.

Back then the loot was often BiS so people had an incentive on top of just wanting to raid - today Eden Savage has taken Coils place, making it more difficult to do this the intended way which is to get a group together who shares a common goal in how they want to clear it. That does include a group wanting to do it unsyched.
Sorry, but you're about 5 years late to the syched-coil-party and even back then you would have had to look for static comitted to a weekly schedulde slowly dying their way through the turns. Your "better way" would be to repeat that: Look for people who are intrested in doing Coil synched, agree on a date and time, read up guides or decide to go in blind - and dont expect to get every clear straight away.

Yes, I agree this is definitely an issue when running this stuff level synced.

Hmm... I wish there were an easy way to fix this. But yeah they'd have to tweak the difficulty of every coil fight in order to add these into the roulette since this was before they included easier story modes for raids. Like yoshida said, if only they could drop another meteor (on ARR) and redo it. Reborn reborn the 2.0-2.55 content. At least it's possible to see all of the story with help from one of two max lv players undersize unsync now. Not the ideal way to experience it but there may be some hope in finding likeminded people to run things at sync level if you advertise on party finder. Recently I saw some people recruiting for minimum item level extreme primal runs, so there are some people out there who want the original full challenge experience.

Try to put up a PF if you want to experience the raids Synced around your server's prime time hours. I've been in a couple just for fun.
Expect to have some fails, however. T9 is still annoying even unsynced.

I was about to say, I can't imagine a PF group doing T9, it's enough of a pain solo unsynced in good 80 gear.
