The Current Housing Timer is One of the Worst Additions made yet.

I'm sure other people could agree. The invisible timer was an idea to make things "fair" but its really the exact opposite.

Not everyone has the time to sit at a placard for up to 24 hours, clicking away.
Even still, there are LOADS of instances, myself included, where I finally get a free day to attempt to get a house. So I sit there and try for 13 hours, only for some random person to come up and magically obtain it on the first attempt because the stars aligned for them and it was their magical lucky moment.

To have put in so much time and effort only to get shut down so easily. Its disheartening, and it really makes you want to just quit playing FF all together. I haven't felt this let down since Atma farming back in ARR Zodiac. But at least Atmas had a better turn out, at least with Atmas I felt like I was still playing FF. THIS is just mind numbing and leaves me a lot of time to wonder who in the world thought of this atrocious idea.

Now that the rant is done and over with. The solution; a pay up front raffle. You pay the Gil, and get a ticket. Then at some point in the future, maybe even use the SAME timer at what they currently have, a random person that paid get the rights to the house. Give them a 24 hr window to claim the ticket and gain ownership of the plot.

As for everyone else, they get their Gil back from the ticket seller, maybe even with like a 10%-20% loss on the Gil. But more than that, and you essentially create a problem that's just as bad with the addition of now encouraging RMT for Gil.

This solution creates actual fairness, removes the painstakingly mindless grind for players, and lets said players continue to enjoy the game while they wait.

You think it is fair that people can transfer gil to another character and buy up multiple plots to sell for 5 times their value? Because this is exactly the reason the timer was added.

Granted, this still happens via shell fc's, but people are more reluctant to abandon their current fc's or live in an empty fc for the sake of a house.

Raffles have been debunked as a solution because it mathematically gives you less chance of getting a house. You'll not just be competing with the clickers but you'll be competing with more players who will see this as an opportunity to get a house without spending hours clicking and quite likely, their alternative characters, because let's face it, if someone wants a house that badly, why would they stop at just 1 character when they can have 8 going for it

Lottery is way better than timer
More competition? Yes, but no mindlessly clicking for a day and to lose it to random lucky one.
Just for the information, I have my own small plot and FC have their own plot. However, camping at the timer is one of the most frustrating experience. A lottery may cause higher competition but it save hours and hours of valuable play time for the player to actually enjoy the game rather that sitting there doing nothing.
I am all in favour of lottery system and scrap the terrible timer

I agree with you. I've seen people burn they whole day off only to come up with nothing. Or worse when they get it they have to buy something they dont want then spend money to transfer it. Yes something needed to be done. But this is bad.
