question for anyone and everyone

im a level 80 bard! but my problem is that im trying to complete sides for hildabrand that are level 31 monsters but my actions are all to high even lowest kills them with little effort which is irritating. i made a duplicate bard and i tried outfitting myself as a lower bard level 29 thinking i would be good to go but wasn't because the 80 still is there the actions are still unchanged.ever since they did action updates i noticed the two level 1s were shooting the highest actions i have. So if you know how to resolve this so i can get through these lower sides it be greatly appreciated. ty

I'm not sure I understand the question. But could you not switch to a different job, that is closer to the level, then just switch back to bard to turn in the quest? And I thought Hildibrand questline is level 70.

I don't know what quest you're referring to, but do you need to damage, but not kill, these targets?

If so, here are some things you can try:
- Unequip everything. Buy a garbage lv1 weapon. Auto-attack the target. Hopefully it won't die.
- Switch to a mage job. Auto-attack the target. Mage auto-attacks are LAUGHABLY weak. The last time I tried this, my WHM could juuuuuuuust barely kill a lv1 target with a single auto-attack.

The mage one is a really good suggestion if they are not supposed to be killing the monsters, though I can't remember a quest that needed you to do that lol.

Sounds like we need to nerf White Mage. :p

all actions at all levels were changed when 5.0 launched. just because you created an alt and are lower level the old actions do not come back.

Unequip gear and just auto-attack, might work not sure.

No, it's a questline that starts at level 50 in ARR, continues at level 60 in HW and ends - so far - with the last quests in SB as level 70.

If I'm understanding correctly, the problem is that you want to hurt low level monsters without killing them, or something similar. I've had this problem with levequests, when you do the initial quest to unlock leves for a specific zone.

The problem is that even a single piece of level 70+ gear is overkill for mid-ARR content. The stat boosts are too high. So all you gotta do is make a separate gear set of the same job for situations like these.

Wear all statless, level 1 gear. Most glamour gear is perfect for this purpose. For the weapon, use a weathered weapon or something similar. Believe it or not, your inherent character stats (the stats you have even without any gear) will make you rather tanky all the way to like level 45, but the damage you do will be very low. It's perfect for this purpose.
