Can Dragoon AOE?
I ask this knowing the answer kinda, since I google searched and found people naming off skills I've never heard of. So the answer is probably "yes"... but my question is, what skills/tactics should I be looking out for? In terms that a relative newbie can understand. :)
Up to this point, I'm just crushing the True Thrust > Vorpal Thrust > Full Thrust combo in 99% of the things I do... granted I'm going through low level sync'd dungeons mostly as I've only really had time for my dailies (falling way behind on the MSQ), so I don't always have a ton of options.
It's great against individual enemies... but as DPS, I feel like I'd be more effective if I were able to hit more enemies at a time. I see other jobs doing that and I see talk on here about DPS and AOE. Unless the whole point of Dragoon is to maximize damage on individual enemies? Which is how it kinda feels right now but I'm sure there's just lots of stuff I'm missing.
Appreciate any insight/advice!

DRG's first AoE skill is Doom Spike, a line AoE (hits all enemies in a line in front of you) that acts as the base of your eventual AoE combo, which will go Doom Spike -> Sonic Thrust (learned at level 62) - > Coerthan Torment (lvl 72). You'll also get Dragonfire Dive at level 50, a jump ability like Jump and Spineshatter Dive that hits all enemies nearby your target for a lot of damage, and you'll eventually gain access to Geirskogul, another line AoE that's off the global cooldown.
According to your profile, you're at level 45, so you don't have many of them yet, but you should have Doom Spike by now; if not, go do your job quest(s), as that's locked behind your level 40 job quest. You won't be able to use it in content that syncs you below level 40, but when you're dealing with groups of enemies at level 40 or higher, use Doom Spike. Single enemies, like bosses, should still have you using your Chaos Thrust and Full Thrust combos, though you don't get the full Chaos Thrust combo until level 50.

Dragoons do have some AOE skills, even though that is not their strong point. Their first AOE skill - Doom Spike - is obtained at level 40.

I did get Doom Spike just the other day, but hadn't had a chance to play with it much. Nice to know there's more on the way. Thanks for the insights!

DRG used to have a non-target AoE attack called Ring of Thorns, but it was was removed ages ago alas (some DRG npcs still use it though, like Alimbiert of the Spiked Butt in that FATE in Coerthas Western Highlands), mostly due to an oversight where players could use it even in cities and so would constantly spam it for lulz. It got so annoying SE just decided to scrap it completely, which is a shame as it was a powerful attack. As usual, this is why we can't have nice things. :(
There is still Dragonfire Dive and the new Stardiver which are AoE attacks. SO DRG is not entirelly devoid of AoE abilities.

By the way, a simple rule of thumb for any AoE skill in the game: Once you have 3 monsters it's more effective to AoE.
